School trips are an important part of school life and fun and educational outings are organised for children from Nursery to Year 8, with pupils experiencing a wide range of day trips throughout the year.

As children become older, they benefit from a wide variety of residential trips. Year 4 enjoy a two night residential stay with a varied programme of fun activities. Year 5 children spend four action-packed days at the outdoor education centre at Foxlease and in Year 6 the children have their first camping expedition, exploring the local area in the Vale of the White Horse.

We have annual residential trips to France in Years 6 and 7.  The Year 6s explore Paris, taking in the sites and landmarks and also discover something of French culture, visiting a market and, of course, trying out their French.  The Year 7 pupils spend a week in a Chateau in Normandy where they are immersed in the French language, including lots of activities led by the French staff.

Our Year 8s enjoy a varied leavers' programme after their exams are finished, including a week under canvas in Wales with outward bound activities.

In alternate years teams of netballers and cricketers from Years 7 and 8 go on tour to Barbados.  Our girls last toured in October 2016 and our boys in July 2017. The girls' next tour is in October 2018 and the boys' tour in July 2019.

Apart from the sporting fixtures, these trips offer an important opportunity to explore a different culture and to meet children whose lives are very different from our own and, of course, there’s always the sea, sand and sunshine when there’s time to relax.
