Boarding plays an integral part of school life here at St Hugh’s and Trina and I are passionate about continuing the success of recent years and making the Boarding House a safe, respectful and homely environment for children to flourish whilst away from home. St Hugh’s is a family-based community across the school and this is at the centre of everything we do in the Boarding House, ensuring boarders in every age group feel a sense of belonging and are able to be an individual whether flexi or weekly boarding.
We are committed to making sure that children are supported with their studies during prep and that they have access to a range of teachers and first-class resources. Once the studies have finished, we aim to cater for the wide-ranging interests of all our boarders, be that arts and crafts, charging around in the sports hall or simply relaxing in the common room or flat.
Our extensive Wednesday night programme consists of a variety of activities such as trips to Oasis, Laserquest, Bowling, Freedog, Boarders’ Baking and many more, whilst Friday night is ‘Movie Night’ in the House.
The newly refurbished boarding accommodation is split over two floors in the heart of the Manor House. We foster a sense of independence and expect our boarders to carry out duties and tasks that will equip them for later life and for boarding at secondary school.
We work with an experienced, committed team of staff, building continuity for the children boarding. We hope to welcome your children to spend a night in the Manor House in the near future.
